Freedom Boat Club has been in operation since 1989. As the world’s largest and oldest members-only boat club, we are rapidly expanding.
How can I be assured there will be boats available?
Our reservation system guarantees equal access for all members to available boats. Additionally, members can secure reservations up to six months in advance.
Are there any additional charges for usage?
No, you will never incur usage charges. The only extra cost is for the fuel you consume during your boating experience.
How frequently can I go boating annually?
Boat usage is unlimited at your home location.
What is the process for making reservations?
Reserving a boat is straightforward. Log in to your reservation dashboard, choose your desired date, vessel, and time slot.
What types of boats are in your fleet?
Our fleet includes a diverse range of boats, including tri-toons, center consoles, and bowriders.
Where can I purchase fuel?
Fuel is available at or near each marina. Your boat will always be ready with a tank of gas.
Who am I allowed to bring with me?

As long as a member is present, you can bring friends, family, guests, children, colleagues, or even your favorite pet.

What are the qualifications for membership?
Membership is open to boaters of any skill level, aged 21 and older. Whether you are a novice or experienced boater, Freedom Boat Club welcomes you as a member.
Can I use boats at other Freedom Boat Club locations?
Yes, if your membership plan includes reciprocal membership, you can boat at any of our Freedom Boat Club locations in the U.S., Canada, and France.
Do you provide boat training and safety classes?
Absolutely. Freedom Boat Club prioritizes boater education and safety. All our Clubs offer free training to local members on the safe use and operation of their ‘home club’ fleet, including classroom and on-water activities.
What safety equipment is available on the boat?
All boats are equipped with required safety gear according to Michigan regulations, including life jackets, fire extinguishers, sound equipment, and flares. Both dock staff and members conduct pre-departure checks to ensure the presence and functionality of this equipment.
